Monster Effects

This page lists monster effects which various creatures have access to which aren’t part of the existing casting lists or scout abilities.

Monster Creature Lore Tables

Due to their significantly different physiologies and fighting styles, some creatures use different Creature Lore tables to those available to player characters. These are given below. The GM may modify these tables as they see fit.

<Strength> Web

Power Type: Natural
Range: 20’
Duration: 15 minutes
Type: Offensive
Target: Person
Resisted by: Strength, Radiate
Effect:
Web forms sticky strands of natural material around the target, webbing all locations.

If the target has Strength at least equal to the strength of the Web (i.e. Strength for Web, Double Strength for Double Web, etc.) he can break the hold in 5 seconds. This increases for 5 seconds per level of strength the character does not have. Further uses of Web whilst webbed reset this duration. (Titus is hit by Double Web and has Strength. He takes 10 seconds to break free).

Any Web which has Ignite cast upon it or is otherwise exposed to natural flames will burn for 5 seconds before it is totally consumed.

Web is typically used by Giant Spiders and other animals which cuccoon or otherwise encase their prey.

Regeneration

Power Type: Natural
Range: Self
Duration: Permanent
Type: -
Target: Dead Body
Effect:
Regeneration causes the target to come back to life shortly after death. They are restored to full life and wounds, but their mana and standing counts and uses of special strikes/abilities remain at the levels at which they died. Regeneration takes one minute. If the target has death thresholds, none are lost in the process. Damaging the body or attacking it further does not affect the regeneration process.

Depending on the type of creature, there may be castings capable of temporarily pausing regeneration or permanently removing regenerations on a target. For Undead these are the Consecrate and Permanent Consecrate castings.

The target cannot lose mana or standing whilst dead. They can have spells and miracles cast on them, which remain in effect after regeneration. Death Curse, Shrivel and Ennervate will reduce life and wounds the target is regenerated with as normal.
